OK, you should all know that tomorrow Revel-8 takes place, screening not once but twice due to the demand for tickets. Wednesday and the good news is the animation session is selling well, but don’t worry, there’s still plenty of tickets available.

Danny Plotnick is in town tomorrow for his retrospective session, and the WInnebago Man guys are in town for the Australian screening of their movie.

OK, tonight sees the Australian premiere of the Jack Kerouac documentary One Fast Move… about the writing of his novel Big Sur this film features the likes of Tom Waits, Carolyn Cassidy, Sam Shepard and many other luminaries. 7:00pm at the Astor.

Also tonight, Music Camera, curated by Cat Hope & Andrew Ewing this session features music and films by the likes of Snowman, Kill Devil Hills and Mystic Eyes, and directors such as Noah Norton, Steven McCallum.

Also playing tonight the epic The Fall and Faubourg Treme.

Tomorrow sees The Matador, Animation Showcase, Possibility of an Island and The End.

If you’re into music, if you’re into film, if you’re into low budget filmmaking and if you want to explore the world of contemporary independent practice you must, must, must attend the discussion sessions Rev has planned for the 11th and 12th. All tickets are $10/$8 and available at the door of the sessions (at ECU and WAAPA).

First cab off the rank on Saturday 11th at 10:30am is super 8 guru Danny Plotnick. A rare breed, Plotnick’s eye and sensibility is like no other and right from the the heart of the US independent and underground scene of San Francisco.

Follow that at 1:30pm with what will be a fantastic in conversation with Steven Severin – founding member of Siouxsie and the Banshees and composer for the screen. This is a truly rare opportunity.

Sunday 12th kicks off with leganday music journalist Everett True and Cat Hope discussing Sonic Film and Music Documentary at 10:30am followed at 3:00pm with the countercounter hailstorm that will be John Michael McCarthy, Cori Dials and Danny Plotnick – direct from the USA discussing no-to-low budget filmmaking.

Last night’s screening of Dod Sno (Dead Snow) was great fun, and everybody seemed happy with the nazi zombie splatter fest. Also screened was the brilliant Anywhere USA, which plays again so come check it out, American Swing, Soul Power and Adventures of Power.
